Bathroom Dulwich

The brief for this loft bathroom was to create a modern space that had colourful, pattern and good functionality.  The room was a low-ceilinged white box, which had very little character so felt very different from the rest of the Edwardian property and the shape presented challenges for creating anything different with the new layout.

The original PVC window was replaced with a new wooden sash which immediately gave the room some character.  After much discussion on layouts it was agreed there was little gain to moving the sanitary ware around, which would have increased the plumbing costs, so we replaced the bath with a shower, thus freeing up space and creating a much more modern feel.

The clients were really keen on a black framed shower we sourced, which was taller than standard showers but we were able to raise the ceiling just a few inches to gain the necessary height  to install it.  This massively benefitted the room as the original ceiling was quite low.

Fortunately the room was filled with natural light so we chose a bold mid-blue, matched with crackled tiles and a complimentary patterned tile floor for interest, both @firedearthuk.   The bespoke vanity unit was painted in the same colour and topped with wood to add warmth and texture along with 2 matching shelves for much needed storage.  The from @lefroybrooks hardware has elevated the overall feel and is a great choice for long lasting UK manufactured design.
