About Me

Having worked for the past 20 years as a TV Producer in the advertising industry, with family commitments and work schedules becoming harder to juggle, I was ready for the next chapter.

My father (Dillon) was always building or renovating parts of our house which gave me an interest and insight into what’s behind the exterior, behind the bit that we see.

My mother (Beth) loved sewing so it was a familiar sight in our house to see her sat behind her sewing machine, creating something, whether it was an outfit for myself or my sister or a set of curtains.

There was a constant buzz of making, decorating and repairing and so the bug to create beautiful spaces was well and truly fixed at a young age. Homes have long been a passion of mine, having spent decades doing up my own properties, constantly learning and honing my skills and pushing myself creatively.

A friend once commented how a flat of mine had inspired them to be creative with wallpaper and bold with colour in the house they had recently purchased.  I was so struck by this that it planted the seed that grew into me retraining at the Institute of Interior Design, where I immersed myself in the course and when I qualified I left my job and set up dillon&beth.

I believe that walking into someone’s home should tell a story, of who they are, where they’ve been and what inspires them.  A home should echo the personality of its occupants, should be unique and work practically and aesthetically for those who live there. It’s important that there’s a mix of old and new, that a room feels like it has evolved over time and yet feels harmonious.  With so many of us spending  much more time in our homes now it’s more important than ever that they are places that ease our busy lives and make us happy.
