Girl’s Bedroom West Dulwich
This small girls bedroom required a lot of careful consideration as there was quite a bit of storage required for Lego, books and bunnies along with ample lighting both for reading and night lights.
There was also a mains gas pipe leading through the room into the loft above, which could not be moved and was housed in a wardrobe.
After looking at different layout options we decided the best scenario for the budget was to keep the existing wardrobe and radiator where they were and replace the single bed with a small double. This meant minimal upheaval and cost moving the room around so the budget could be maximised on the interior and décor.
We used beautiful @littlegreene wallpaper and paint for create a vibrant and colourful room that detracted from its size and with the help of a double bed we created a space that felt grown up and more balanced.
The shelves were made by a local carpenter to fit the space supported by steal scaffold brackets and painted to fit the scheme. A lovely old school desk was sourced through @ebay and a wooden chair repaired and upcycled.
The painted fireplace was stripped back to reveal a beautiful original steal mantle which supports a large French overmantel mirror to bounce light around the room
The original wardrobe was painted to match the wallpaper but with a different colour inside for fun and old handles were replaced with modern knurled hardware @dowsingandreynolds. Bespoke bedside cabinets were made to fit a tight space either side of the bed with useful extra storage and reading lights @orlakeiley.
Lastly we had a roman blind made in a matching chenille fabric @osborneandlittle with contrasting pom poms and braid.
